Gunther Rohn 6'5" shortboard

Postby boardofwork » Mon Apr 16, 2007 5:19 pm

I have just bought a Gunther Rohn shortboard from Aus. Condition appears excellent, no dings other than what the b**tard baggage handlers did at heathrow. Anyone know much about these boards? Will i be able to surf the smaller waves we get here in the UK or will I suffer? The board is blue (foam underneath is blue), does this mean anything to anyone?

Hasn't been any waves worth talking about since i got back so haven't had a chance to try it yet here in the UK!!

No offense, but if you don't know much about it, then why did you get it?

Because it was great in Aus where the waves were of a decent size/power, it was very similar to a hire board i tried, had great fun on it for a couple of weeks over there so have brought it back with me. Now i want to know a bit about the shaper/board and having not really surfed here in the UK, i want to know if it will be any good or if i should perhaps put it away for the big days and get myself a mini-mal for the usual surf around here.

you can never have too many boards. Its up to you to see if the board will work for you in smaller conditions.
