Ohhh I love it whe a woman says that :->
No seriously, there is no such thing as an all-round board, I love every one of my 4 boards, for different reasons....each is good in the specific conditions they were designed for.
I may get 1-2 a year...but I do break them as well, it's an ongoing replacement rather than accumulating.

I shape or buy as many as possible they break and who knows when yer gonna need another.now that I shape it's alot easer to accumulate boards
keep a large quiver cuse conditions change but realy three boards well picked out kept in rotation is typical sufficant.short, gun long

I own one board, its 7'6. I only need one cause sometimes if we get lucky the lifeguards let us use the giant resque boards if the beach is empty.

if you could break a bic i would be hugely impressed. i learnt to ride on those boards you could run them over and you'd probably just snap a fin. they're solid! fiberglass boards on the otherhand...well, its just a big piece of foam covered in glass, you can ding them just putting them on the ground (concrete)... i have one board from a taranaki shaper which is a sweet learner board (i just started this year) but i'll probably invest in more in the future when i'm not a poor student and can actually surf with any kind of style...might be a while then aye?

ive seen a bic slpit down the side, like where the two peices of plastic are put together. but other than that i guess they are tanks. won't catch me on one though, i got to be able to make it from my truck to the water :D
