been a member since the beginning. water quality has increased dramtically since the 90's - a great deal of that is due to the pressure SAS put on the government & water companies. newbies & groms alike owe them a great deal!
their mission goes further now, battling flags of convenience, storm overflows, toxic waste, and generally trying to get everyone enviromentally friendy. they took a bit of flak for supporting the wave hub so lost a bit of respect from the north kernow massive & the mags. a shame really, because they were in such a difficult position with it all.
surfers always have the envirmonet close to their hearts. but as a surfer what would you do?
a) support an enviromentally friendly power source to the detriment of some very good breaks & waves
or...
b) keep surfing good waves, but to the detriment of the enviroment
tough decision eh?
real shame there is no SAS ball this year. was always good to see the BPSA boys loaded... Mr Lam!
