What a HAPPY day!!! PART 2

Postby WooD » Wed Apr 04, 2007 7:34 am

I've been getting into photography the last year or so. I had a Canon S2 IS which I loved to death. I'd been wanting to buy a DSLR for a while now, but never figured the boss/ wife wood ever go for it.

Between collecting guns, knifes, owning a Harley, and a Jeep which theres always a new toy for, and having bought 2 new board within the past 14 months. I figured I wood be wasting my time, but I thought....what the hell.

Needless to say tomorrow, well actually today UPS will be delivering this to my door.

That camera is supposed to be a good one, I've got the D50, my bro has the D100. That lens is going to be mine soon too, as I have heard that my bro is going to give the one he has to me, which recently had several hundred $$ repair work done on it, luckily no shipping as they're based not too far from here.

SCHWEEEEET!!!

Did you get it with the vertical grip too? I have one on my film Canon and its the sweetest thing ever made for a camera. Except I like shooting it vertical more than horizontal now.

I'm a Canon guy myself, but that Nikon is solid!

Get it and go start shooting!! (the camera) First thing to take a pic of is the jeep, you have it modded?

Yeah I ordered the grip. Those things aint cheap. Now I need a new tripod, camera bag, and a nice 17-55mm lens. The lens I got is a 80-200 f/2.8

I'll probably have to leave for work about the time it gets here.....no shooting today probably.

Yeah the new ones are ridiculous....I guess it's got the battery in there like on the Canons?

I got my film camera with the vertical grip for 85 :woot:

The one good thing about everyone switching to digital other than me is that film cameras are really cheap......although it cost me 30 bucks the other night to get 3 rolls of film developed....

You win in the long run. I can't wait to see some pictures.

I got the vertical grip free when I got my Canon. That was one of the perks of managing the photolab in a camera shop - lab on first floor, stock room on second floor

Nice, I'm a canon user myself but the D80 is a good piece of kit & the 70-200f2.8 is pretty good from the reviews.

If you want to do some surf photography 200mm is ok but mebe get a 1.4 or 2.0 teleconvertor, that'll take you up to 400mm at f5.6 which should be fast enough.

Woodn't you know it came 20 minuets before I had to leave for work. All I had time to do was unpack it. As far as lens go I only really need two more a 18-55mm, and this little one here for surf photography.........In my dreams anyhow.
