Basically its this small product that you attach to bottom of your board, just below your tailpad and it stops sharks from coming near you.
Its called the shark shield and the antenna trails out behind the board creating a protective field below the surfer to repel sharks.

Sounds pretty cool. Id consider one if I lived in a shark area, but they do cost £300 which is a nasty price

Although they are well known to repel sharks at close range there is some concern that they may actually attract sharks from medium distance (like 100kms).

It's interesting products that appeal to our fear. When the reality is that you are more likely to be killed buy a sow on a farm... Anyone terrified of visiting a farm?

Here is a product that I have on both my longboards. It may or may not work, but it sure gives me a little peace of mind. 8)
