My local break now would probably be Skegness. Which I find very, very depressing! I'm 6'4, 14 stone, and used to ride a 7'6 mal, but i'm thinking a 6'10 shortie would be a good move up the chain. So that's me. I'm still a beginner, but a very lucky one whose seen loads of different conditions in lots of amazing places.

So, hey! Nice to be here, I\'m looking forward to getting involved again! :D

Hi,

Where exactly in the midlands are you? I guess my nearest break would be Skeg although I normally surf at Cayton.

Hey guys,

I'm new, but not really

Some of you might remember me as "Surfingextremes" from summer of 2005.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE, MISSED YA! I'm land locked in MO now, it's killing me. I've been going through lame surfing withdrawls, other than that, life is good. Glad to be back :)

Hello people.
Never been surfing myself, nearest ive been is bodyboarding down on the Isle of Wight coast, i say bodyboarding, it was more lay for an hour bobbin' then play Lifeboats with my little cousins, but all i can think about is how much i want to surf, i love everything about it, cool as, all the way down to clothes, love a bit of FreeSpirit.
Im into BMX as well as Free running, climbing etc, the whole social thing is great as well. I live in a run down dump though and its hard to meet people etc.
Anyway hello everyone, all the best and enjoy summer.

Animal! xx

opps

Sorry everyone,i put a seperate introduction on the board, lets try again.

Aloha, everyone. Some people might know me from another forum. My friends call me Stormy. As a almost 46 year old,i have been surfing for 32 years.I first started surfing in St Ives and Newquay. It amazing how busy thoses places are now, compared to the mid 70's.

I have also surfed around the world from my late teens,to my late 30's.But i still have never surfed North Shore yet.

Over time,i have met a few Pro surfers.Like Mark Richards,Barton Lynch,Occy,Munga Barry and Luke Egan.

As for surfing now,i tend to surf mainly in Newquay and Perranporth. As i have friends their, and they let me crash,so saves me money.

Any how,i look forward to starting threads and posting on here, and meeting you all on the board.

Regards

Stormy

Thank you :)

lol Dartford, known for its bridge and tunnel, the nice parts of Dartford as they both lead out. Saying that there is some good spots in town for free running and BMX so yeah, sanity kept, just.
I think it is time to move, nearer the drink!

Postby Makka » Wed Mar 28, 2007 6:01 pm

hey all ive posted a bit here and there, and have only just come across this sticky, thought i better introduce myselfto everyone. . .

Well im Makka, 22, and living in Brighton, right by the coast :D but unfortunatly no surf and horrible pebbles on the beach

am very much into my surfing, spent the summer of 2006 in Newquay, working as a barman, was an awesome time, met some great people, but wish i handt worked so much and spent a little more time learning more about surfing. .

my current surfing stage would def be Rookie,. but at the end of this year im off travelling round the world for a year and hope to get alot better at it. .

i own a south african Chilli board which is 5.11" . . . way to short for where i am in regards to surfing ability, yet i got it at such a cheap price it would have been stupid not to buy it!!

hope to have fun here, and get allsorts of info and advice!

:D 8)

Hi Makka, welcome to the forum! I live about 45mins from Brighton and I'm moving there with a new job in a few months. I've been surfing around shoreham quite a bit (but don't like the conditions much!). If you ever want to go surfing together or lift share to the SW/wherever, get in touch!

welcome to the forum! There are waves now and again... (although not in the summer) My local spot is around Shoreham, but there are a few south coasters on here who surf at bracklesham, the witterings, boscombe, kimmeridge etc. They'll probably be able to give you better advice than me!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, sorry did you say something??
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Yeah the south coast does get some great waves, just not that often. Here in bournemouth we've got some really good breaks but your gonna have to learn some forecasting skills to save many a wasted journey!

Bognor has been known to work.... no, really.... although I think last time was in 1988

Yes. Loads. Not going to be like Oz or Bali, but there are spots. Mostly winter spots though.
