I Hate London Traffic.

Postby Stone Fox » Wed Mar 28, 2007 5:19 pm

Anyone else who lives in our lovely sprawling metropolis will feel my pain on this.

Twickenham to perivale.
Perivale to Roehampton.
Roehampton to Balham
Balham to Twickenham
Twickenham to Tooting
and back.

That wouldn't be SO bad, but, well, you know what the traffic can get like. It was one of THOSE days. i.e some idiot went and had an accident and blocked the south circular apparently. Hence the mess.

My left foot feels like it's been tenderised with a steak hammer from the amount of time it's spent abusing the clutch.

<----whimpers quietly.

Its the, ugh, same everywhere, change your lifestyle if you don't like it. You choose where you live and work.
I used to work 20 miles from home the first 16 miles on back roads 25 mins, the last 4 through Sheffield another 40 to 60 mins, i chnged my job.
Whats wrong with public transport.

Used to do "The Big Smoke" three times a week from Nottingham in a HGV, as soon as you get to Marble Arch different rules apply. Nobody seems to understand Red lights, Crossings or the use of indicators!

maybe I shouldn't tell you that I can get to work in 5mins.... :P

when I lived in Manchester, I used to have to travel 15miles right across the city centre and it would take upto an hour. I know it could be alot worse but I decided I hated commuting.

London traffic is a nightmare. I never take the car into Croydon anymore because I could have gone there and back about 4 times on the train with all that traffic

london public transport in rush hour is an extreme sport in itself.

ELBOWS.

Seriously though london public transport affords you some of the greatest laughs of any commute in the world.

I live on the isle of dogs and it mixture of ultra posh city boys and council estate mums are always good for a laugh.
