The house we rented for 2 years was 1,500 foot from the beach. We had a new house built, so now I'm 4 miles away.

about 1/2 drive to my favorite break. Only a little bit extra to go up or down the coast from there. Sometimes it's less if the traffic is light. I always wished I could live right on Ocean Ave. and scope out the conditions from my kitchen window as I eat my breakfast, but I guess I have it way better than a lot of other people as it is

Well I am about 15 minutes from really crappy rock bottomed point breaks......

The better breaks about between 1.5hrs-10hrs away.

On the Beach

Postby DanKo » Fri Apr 06, 2007 2:29 pm

I live on Isla Verde beach in PR.

Could walk to the break in ~25 minutes, but would need to negotiate some streets due to the way the beach curves (there is a building in between my stretch of beach and the break)...taboot, that is a long way to carry your board...especially on the way back.

The break is right down the street. Takes me ~5 minutes to put the softrack on the car and ~3 minutes to drive down there. Parking is a bitch.

SO...short answer...5 minutes.

Life is good. (Now if only I wasn't such a newbie Gremmo!)

I can see the sea from my balcony and bedroom window, and sometimes see dolphins swimming in the bay, whilst I'm laying in bed in the morning.
10 mins drive to my local break.

I used to live at least 3 hours away from the beach, a really crappy one and breaks only once a year at that.
