the two most defined styles i think are Rob Machado and Tom Curren. Tom just influenced so many people's style today its hard not to credit him first and foremost...and everyone can tell when Rob is surfing.

If you go on pure style, then its got to be old skool. None ofe the young pups compare.
If you look at how styles change then Parko for the way he goes at stuff, Slater for his all roundness, its subjective.
Bertlemen through and through.
and i'm sure there maybe a spelling malfunction in there somewhere.

definitely Tom Curren for style, not necessarily the best moves but from the vids I've watched of him, especially one of him ripping in Russia that was on Fuel TV a while ago, he has the most fluid movement and smoothest ride and carves of any other surfers I've seen. Not necessarily the most radical, he's like if you took all the soul and style longboarders have and put it into a shortboarder.

Joel Tudor and Bonga Perkins for the longboards

Kalani Chapman, Mick Fanning, and Joel Parko for thw shortboarders

(don't know enough about women surfing to do it for the womens..but I'm sure my wife will edit this and put some up!)
