Postby Tom-Irons » Fri Mar 23, 2007 5:22 pm

Last Time I went surfing, Sooooooo many people dropped in on my waves. Does that happen alot to you guys? I thought it was 'illegal' in the surfing world  ?

Only illegal to those who live by surfing etiquette! :P Ive had it happen once or twice but just usually have people bitchin saying that your catching there waves and generally pathetic threats to get you to move on but you get used to it! Surfing world is going to pot in some places!

Usually is one of two things; a bunch of kooks that don't know proper etiquette, or "locals" trying to make a point. It's usually pretty easy to tell which one it is.

for the first, I opt for intervention and speaking up. For the latter, showing some respect and competence goes a long way.

dude, the only thing that i really hate is one some tourist on a 5$ bodyboard who only has the ability to ride the white water into shore doesnt control themselves and gets in the way when youre trying to carve and then they get pissed at you when you bail in front of them,

if ur surfing somewhere where theres loadsa droppins, ur normally surfing somewhere that aint that great (read gay bay). try somewhere else where there aint so many kooks, droppins come with the territory at gay breaks i'm afraid. call 4 the wave, don't be a snake (or u gonna get burned anyhow) let someone know wat they did wrong (nicely, don't stick ur board in their face) and they (hopefully) won't do it again. but again, these days, if u don't wanna get dropped in on don't surf the easy going breaks!

I have the perfect anti drop in device. Just have a friend take turns using the dreaded device, and you can have not just any wave you want, but every wave.

Ilike  , can i have one.

Only problem i have is people on the inside, not in the white wash but between that and the line up. Just bobbing up and down trying to look cool or something.
I`m not that great myself but i do watch what is going on around me.
