Lol, your attempts at staring posts are looking sad and lonely at the mo.

Friday, December 19, 2003 (Pipeline, HAWAII) The Xbox Pipeline Masters is OVER and Andy Irons from Hawaii became ASP 2003 World Surfing Champion.
Pipeline results are:-
1 Andy Irons
2 Joel Parkinson
3 Philip MacDonald
4 Kelly Slater
5 Luke Hitchings
5 Bruce Irons
7 Pancho Sullivan
7 Cory Lopez
9 Kieren Perrow
9 Shea Lopez
9 Beau Emerton
9 Derek Ho

Maybe we can revive this post next year - I would think that both Andy and Kelly will be up there again.

Here is how the top 5 finished up

1 Andy Irons, Hawaii 8964
2 Kelly Slater USA 8544
3 Taj Burrow, Aus 7344
4 Mick Fanning, Aus 7080
5 Joel Parkinson, Aus 6972

Its fairly open this year with Slater only just winning but thats only cos he missed 1 event through injury, so my money is on Slater again this year.
Taylor Knox is right up there in 5th which is impressive for him.
I don't think Andy has the heart for it now that Slater is back on top, and until someone really kicks his ass thats where he'll stay - its all about confidence for Slater.
...but having said all that TB could slip in under the radar and actually I don't think anything is a safe bet this year.
But maybe I would bet on Slater beating Andy at least .
