And Stonefox I came up with the design, it's something I had been toying with for a little while, and Kitey really made it come to life :D

Kitey's adding the pink bits later. The white bits in the llion's head are going to be filled in soon - full pinkness will be the last finishing touch.

Board completion is neatly coinciding with a flat spell

As soon as there is some south or west coast swell, I'll be on my way to the coast via Kitey's shaping shack :D

Then we can expect much wobbliness

While we're here by the way, can someone please explain to me the concept of a fat boy flyer?

Hey matt ur pessimistic again. Phil reckons there will be good swell this weekend down the west coast.

Fat boy thruster/funboard. Well it's not a minimal and it's not a thick bouyant thruster either, it's somewhere in between. Whereas someone who's lookng to move to a shortboard from a minimal might go for a shortboard with a bit more thickness first (like matts new board) a fat boy flier would be great all round board for someone starting or for a big guy wanting a board for when the waves arne't good for his shortboard.
Great for learning on. Its another one of those hybrid inbetween boards that are becoming more and more popular. They've allways been about if you've wanted one making but these days all these boards are getting names.
Thats my view on it anyway.

Well It looks like i'm going to get mine shipped to me, as things are very busy for me over the next month or so.

I don't care if there's waves or not as soon as I get it I'm heading out :D

Might be by sunday. Could be nice, although not very big - which is probably best for a new board :D
Work out the details later in the week...

While, me, I just need the thickness 'cos Im a fat, heavy, unfit flesher.

I'd invoke little bouncey man (again) but Im a bit worried it might be flat this weekend....

But I still want to go into the water with it anyway :D

....mostly to see if it'll float with me on top of it, and whether I can paddle it

Charts and predictions undecided as yet - sunday could be anything from pointless 1ft to headhigh at the moment

Tide is all wrong too

Being optimistic, I think there'll be some kind of wave on sunday although not shoulder to head (what charts are you looking at?)

Well the seaweed in the back of my van is indicating 5ft, light offshore breezes and hula, hula girls on the beach to bring us hobgoblin when we finish surfing! 8)
