URGENT! (Florida weather)

Postby guest » Thu Aug 26, 2004 11:45 pm

im going down to florida with a friend this saturday (28th) and we hope to be able to surf. ive been checking the weather and everywhere in florida seems to be forecasting T-storms all through next week. should we just cancel the trip altogether? are the storms better for surfing? will it be too dangerous/will anywhere rent a surfboard out to us? we hope to go to daytona beach or a little farther south, but we'll go anywhere that the weather's going to be decent.

I'm not shure how the waves are gunna be but don't go paddleing out durring the storm or your forshure going to get struck by lightning. go after the storm when the waves are all glassy.

rain is not bad but Florida lighting is not something to mess with. I would deffinetly call you an idiot if you were surfing in Florida with lightning.

so do you think that surf rental shops will be renting boards even though the weather may not be great?

i was surfing during a lightning storm the other day. It pretty cool if a little dangerous. It made me think how far does lightning travel when it hits the water. Obviously it cant electrocute everything. Does anybody know?

i do know that water is an over rated conductor and that it doesnt conduct electricity like people think it does. i go surfing during thunderstorms all the time. im still here. and if it conducted that well it would kill fish and everything else in the water.
