something random

I just had to teach an English lesson to a bunch of "less able" 15yr olds as their teacher was off sick. I've never seen anything like it.... they had to rephrase ten sentences and ALL of them were really dodgy - there was

"I'm coming, I'm coming, just hold on", said Sally to John

"Oh, no John", said Sally, "you've got to stop, please"

...to name just a few!

Then they had to write a short story about being "excited"

I mean, was this some kind of joke? Surely the person who wrote the work must have realised how a bunch of 15yr olds are going to take it????

I spent the lesson trying to explain how these sentences could have an innocent meaning!

Another urban myth unfortunately. I used to love that explanation, having done loads of acid when I was younger I thought I could see a connection!

The reason for the bright colours and strange style is it's originally french, and a particular type of french art media typical to 1964. An english voiced version made it over the channel in 1965.

On the subject of drugs, TELETUBBIES!!! :D

Written by people on Acid for peope on pills!

Did you know the teletubbies are big (like, 10 foot) mechanical suits? They had to import giant shetland rabbits to make 'em look right.

  I've been duped. I could have sworn that Captain pugwash had those characters in it... I'm sure I saw it, though it may have been one of those annoying 'I loved the 80's' programs saying about pugwash and the rude names... But just turned to wikipedia and it confirmed what you just said, it's all an urban myth!! :? I could've sworn it was true :? I'm no longer sure of what is real!!!

Urban myth - They were actually Vamparic Orkney Island Hares, it's a common mistake, both are about the same size and nocturnal, but only the Hares can pick up tv signals of children playing on their fur. They're protected you know, but only from paedophiles.
