Help choosing a Board?!?!

Hey,
I'm new to surfing and want a board that will last, (obviously a short board).
I have had a go on my step dads and I can catch waves so I want one of my own. I am around 60 KG and am 171cm tall. Any sugestions on boards? thanks

Why a shortboard? I think you would be better off with a funboard.

Do you mean push yourself along in whitewater & mebe get to your knees/feet -or- paddle out back in 2ft+ surf and catch green waves?
