Does Newquay rules?

Postby eco » Sat Mar 03, 2007 4:00 pm

People from the world, specially from Cornwall...,im living and bleeding in Madrid as always, but ive got an idea around my mind lately. Im thinkin bout going to Newquay next october to do some english excuse-course.lI wanna live, at least, for three months. Could anybody tell me something good about surfing there, or bad, or.. just something bout crowded beaches, localism, stuff like that...?cause i prefer reading your opinions that readin wannasurf. Thanks a lot, good waves for everybody, or..just waves!

well... i doubt there will be many crowed beaches in October...it usually dies down when the kids go back to school. waves i think are better in January but someone else will have to tell you about cos i havent been in October. localism... it won't be bad as long as you dont act like a moron, they're used to it i think.

october is the most consistant time to go, newquay is packed regradless of what time of year it is, but its never really a problem theres normaly enough space for everyone

fistral - south end of fistral beach by pentire is normaly smaller than the north end, south fistral can hold some big swell before maxing out but can be a killer of a paddle out on a big day, but can get in off the rocks to save the paddle out

towan - this is by the harbour wall in town really nice wave sheltered from the south westerlys but does get busy when all over spots are blown out, its normaly alot smaller than fistral and works very well in big swells when other breaks are maxing out

cribber - reef break prob uks most famous big wave

tolcarn - nice fast peeling wave often not as croweded as fistral so allways worth checking out its a short walk down from towan

Newquay is Shite, even the locals only surf it when its too big for tourists. Oh and way too over rated, IMO.

Ha Ha ^^^^
would that be a northener from the friendliest city in the UK (Sheff) or the general Northerners who are a heck of a lot more approachable, friendly, polite, and just damn right nice than yer average (oops) i apply this term loosly condesending arrogant Southener, generalising an arc round the M25 , 90 degrees South, 90 Gegrees East.

I apply the term liberally to all residents of the mysterious lands to the north of Exeter. Xenophobic? Me?

i concur that sheffield is the friendliest place in the world.

(I might have a slight vested interest.)

  buggrerd up again.^^^Not everyone in that local are the same, but the over hyped self indulgense is really annoying. Why do Londeners get more money spent on them than us northeners. I live in the richest, most educted parlimentary constituenty outside the SE but we get £100 pounds less in grants for public transport per person, Why. Other grants are similar, i realise we need a world leader as a capital city but this is often as a detriment to the rest of England. There are farmers being screwed by the supermarkets but all this shite government is bothered about is some fkin redevelopment of a piece of waste ground in habited by scrubbers in London. Re develop the whole of the UK please.
