yeah, wet sand is good, it has projected winds, height, period, and direction for each on a nice, colorful map. Also has written a synopsis for entire east coast (very detail, and very scientifically based) and also specific spot projections.

Also very good in depth seasonal preditictions.

Hey I just found this thread now....better late than never. I'm Dennis and I'm in central jersey. I started last spring and since then I've pretty much stuck to Belmar....thinking about checking out some other spots this year. I haven't been out for a few months but I'll be back as soon as it warms up a bit (the air). I got a 9'6 (white with yellow trim)....if you see me, holler. But don't get too PO'd if I do something dumb, I'm still pretty new!

Hey NOVAsurf, I'm in Warrenton also. I surfed for the first time in Hawaii this past May and have had the fever since. Is N.C. a good place to learn?

Nags Head was the 1st place I ever surfed (last summer). Like anywhere you may surf, just make you don't venture out if the conditions are too tough for a beginner (i.e. make sure the winds/currents aren't too strong dragging you into a pier or jetty and the surf is under 4-5 feet max.). Nice sandy beaches along the east coast are pretty ideal for beginners. Some places might have very shallow sand bars that aren't visible so be careful not to break your neck if you go to a spot where you haven't talked to anyone beforehand about it.

Hey I am in Northern NJ and having been mainly surfing Belmar but will most likely try out Spring Lake and Sea Girt soon too. I am on a 7'6" NSP out there. You may see me sometime during the week surfing.

3 miles N of Sebastian.
Currently floundering at Wabasso, sometimes Indiatlantic - and this other place between 'em that I've been, er, strongly advised not to name...

Live in Ft. lauderdale, surf most of the breaks around here, but usually drive farther up north when there's a good north east swell.
