I was thinking of getting one before. From what ive heard and read - I guess they do help your balance but they are just waaaay to pricey. Like Wood said, its a lot better to make your own

You would get better exercise and training riding a skateboard in my opinion.

Wouldn't it be more practical to learn to balance on the board you plan on riding than buying an indo board to practice balancing?

I got one from my mates for my birthday. I don't think I would've bought one on my own. But having used it, it really does enhance your reflexes and balance a bit more. They're definitely good to have if it's flat and you're lounging around watching the tube.

This is my custom indo, was fun to make and stencil on, the only trouble i'm having is finding a tube bigger than 4 1/2 inch, but for now it's good enough :D

Oh and use 3 inch ply at least, and for grip I bought some clear grip tape.

I made the logo in photoshop, then printed it.

Used a hobby knife to cut it out on to some wax proof paper and sprayed it on :)

Normally i'll laminate the printed paper, and then cut it out, but I was out of laminate.

This is the site I usually refer back to for tagging and stenciling.

http://www.stencilrevolution.com/homepage.php

Has some fantastic tutorials and gallery sections, hope this helps.
