Ive just realised something about this thread...quite a few people have posted where they hide their keys  Think its time I took a stroll down to where you all live and make use of this free information before some chav locates this forum and uses it to their own ends!!

I saw a woman with a brand new BMW look at me then put her key in the wheel arch this weekend.

I am an honest bloke, but I couldnt believe what she was doing, it was asking to be robbed.

Don't leave soft racks on yer car whilst yer in the water... got back up to the car park just in time to see 2 Polish blokes cutting the straps

Luckily they were driving a Polish reg BMW... not too many of them over here yet, so wont be too hard to spot

hmm... that's just nasty.
in my spot, people have "respect" for surfers and just let their stuff be.
i've gone out a couple times where i would see people carry two boards go out and just leave the other one on the sand for about an hour and a half.
most of my friends leave their cars unlocked.(i know... idiots huh?)

i just can't keep my key in my suit anymore. last time i did it, i bent the key just a tiny bit and it wouldn't turn the ignition, the funny part was that it was night and the sun had already gone down. so yea, lesson learned.
i carry a backpack with me containing my car keys, water, flip flops, and some other things. ever since then, everytime i go out, i just leave it there, and when i come back, it's still there untouched.

(better not jinx myself...)

Coded Surfboards?

Postby Kaimana Surf Co » Thu Sep 20, 2007 2:45 pm

Hey guys, we're thinking of chipping all our boards (Chips can be matched to a database containing ownership details etc) to reduce the ammount of stolen boards that get traded in or sold on ebay and the likes. For this to be effective, however, it would have to be a nationwide thing. Feedback on this idea would be awesome, plus if you have any other nifty ways of stopping grockles from nicking your stick i'd love to hear about them!
Take it easy.

My brother and I have both been using aqaupac keymasters for a couple of years now as we both have electronic keyfobs and have had no issues.

They are guaranteed to 50m and well worth £10

Great idea on the wetty key. I have hidden mine in a portable key holder but that doesn't sound like a good idea now.

Yeah.. another vote for the shoe string around the neck bit for me. :) I use my Valet key (the one that doesn't have the electrical parts in it) whenever Im headed to the beach. Leave the FOB at home and have my valet key already tied on the shoestring.

Very easy and I dont have to be wondering if my car will still be there while Im floating around in between waves..

I'm very paranoid about losing my stuff, I keep it all in my bag but I have my phone in it and sometimes my Ipod, and a few other things that wouldn't be to bad to get nicked but still annoying like a beanie. I think i am going to lock up as i am not quite old enough to own a car yet, but I will be in september :D.

A few of my friends are little chavy, so I'd prefer it if you didn't start a national genocide of chavs :D
