:? HELLO WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE OUT THERE COULD GIVE ME SOME ADVICE I AM LOOKING FOR A FARLY GOOD SURF TO LEARN ON BUT WITHOUT THE VOLUME OF PEOPLE I HAVE EXPERIANCED BODYBOARDING AT CROYDE BAY ALSO I HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL NEED A LONG BOARD AS I AM 6FT3INCH IS THIS TRUE :?:

As for quiet surf breaks they're hard to come by and annoucing them on the internet will only result in more people finding out where they are and hence becoming more busy.

do you meen you want a good spot to learn withought many people????
And yes start on a longboard, rent one

Funny how the guy who is shouting doesn't like the VOLUME OF PEOPLE!!

In fairness though, if you don't want loads of people you have two choices,

1. get to the coast and look for somewhere good/ empty (good luck if you choose this one!)

2. Surf in the winter and get VERY cold!! (it works!)

Man, I dont know what I will do once I go to a busy break....cus the water temps here are still at like 40. The buisiest break I have ever been on was about 5 people......When I was in mexico there was about 15, but it was a big break, so that doesnt count.

New guy, just go out, and giv'er. Rent a longboard, read the threads on her how to do stuff, read the how to surf guide. and just get out there and do it.
