Hey, Im not really new but today we had "surfing" in swim gym class. we used like these lifeguarding boards which arent really surfboards but i was able to pull a hang ten on it. it doesnt really seem possible but i guess it was. It was pretty cool everyone saw it and the teacher immediatly knew i surfed.

It doesnt make much sense but if you just paddle fast enough it works. i guess it wasnt actually surfing. i have only been surfing for 1 summer and i have a 6'0" 80's shortboard, 6'8" tuflite Al Merrick flyer, and a 9'8" longboard (dont know the brand).

I find a Kayak paddle and a longboard works quite well for flat water surfing... oh yeh, and a motor boat with ski rope helps too. Saves a lot of energy....

My latest trick is repairing the fin on my longboard (again).

I am a new member. I surf the East Coast from Va beach to Jax Fl. I ride a 7'2 Pride Board due to water conditions usually, but i have a Pride 6'1 as well. Pride is a local shaper, i think they are tied to 22 st surf shop which is substancially bigger.
