No, the 4x4 girls and boys are loving it - it gives them a sense of justification for their pointless, fuel guzzling, expensive, vulgar monstrosities. If only the stupid fleshers had thought to clean the snow off their windows before driving... :yearght:

ahem :P

I think DBBB's point was that in London, no-one needs a 4x4! Whereas out in the boonies (sorry, countryside!) they are actually useful, esp. for people who have horse-trailers n the like to pull! :D (But I'm guessin' you knew that anyway!)

So painfully true!

And Jo, don't even think about getting offended. I'm guessing you actually use a 4x4 for it's intended purpose?

He's talking about 'street' 4x4's like those hideous lexus, porche, BMW, merc etc creations that have never seen mud in their lives.

I saw a funny review on Top Gear with Clarkson driving one of these generic 'street 4x4's round a field. Not even a particularly muddy field.

Guess what happened?

They had to get a Landrover to tow them out!

Dont worry about Jo - Ive happily jumped in her (very full) range rover for lifts around camp sites. And Ive followed her through muddy fields in a camper van, I think she was winning that one!

But range rover drivers, drunk ones at that, they're all trouble, parking on the wrong spot in campsites

Ive got the Heep outside, covered in mud, seawater, toad dna and god knows what from storming through HUGE puddles after last weeks rain (with the flashing light going for the novelty factor).

Went to the garage to get some gogo juice, pulled up next to one of them Porche SUV things (the nasty looking ones) and decided that dents, mud, crap and all the other xxxxx made my Heep look miles better than the highly polished Porche. Got an evil look off the school-run Mum when she got back in it though.

i thought this thread was about snow...

i've just had two days off work. it was thick snow so they closed the school :D . i've spent two days in bed asleep :D feeling refreshed but now wished i'd been a bit more productive and used my time wisely cuz now i'm back at work and i've got to teach a bunch of 17year olds in 50mins and i haven't prepared anything. i think maybe i should get them to discuss ryle's concept of the ghost in the machine and then plan an essay on materialism. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

actually i know you're not bothered... i'm just thinking aloud

It hasn't snowed here yet either... no1 wants it to snow @ school apart from me... it's like snow people

It shows global warming is happening... the pond near my house hasn't frozen over... i can remember when i used to walk to junior school and then see if it would take the weight of 1 leg then end up with a soaked leg for the rest of the day at school because it didn't hahahaha....
