Brisbane beaches

Postby caracas_surf » Thu Feb 01, 2007 12:50 am

Hi everybody.

Now I have a good chance to surf in australia since im in the process of getting a job in brisbane, but to be honest I have no idea where to go in Brisbane since im coming from overseas. I know about goldcoast and surferparadise but I think they are too far away from brisbane, so if you please can help and let me know where are the good and closest spots for surfing in Brisbane I would appreciatte it.

thanks a lot people

forget surfing everyday before or after work in Brisvegas.... its a 40min drive to the nearest spot in either direction on a good day and even then its not that great. The best spots are down at kirra which is a further 45mins south and then your going to be fighting with the masses to grab a wave.

good luck

as the guy above said.
but mate go to south bank LMFAO.
the swell is massive there dude.
nar joking it's a man made beach. .

If i was you i'd get a job during the week and spend the weekend down the gold coast.
cause around brisbane is xxxxx for surfing.
you need to be an hour or two down or up the coast as the lad befor me said around kirra is good but you'll be fighting with groups to catch a wave.

take it easy.
have a good one.

I prefer the sunshine coast. Generally the crowds aren't as bad as the gold coast. Sometimes the waves aren't as good, but when you are learning that isn't the end of the world. The drive back to Brisbane on a Sunday arvo can take forever thouh with all the traffic :(

All the above except I'll be doing shift work so the pre-work surf will be on for me!!!
The spots that are within an hour of the city are good enough for me!
