yep .. that should do it P' !! .. in fact thinking about it , crashing the power grid from the surge would be quite a nice lil' accidental anarchistic show as well .. so bonus if it does blow generators

Its a load of bollox about things using more power when on and off. Esp lights. Any fluresant/Energy saving bulbs can be turned on/off at any time and makes no difference. Same with most appliances and so on.

However yes the 'surge' or sudden demand again will be amusing but I doubt it'll make much difference. Prob be aboutthe same as the break in the middle of Corrie when everyone makes a cupper.

the whole point of this is to make a point and perhaps make people think about leaving things on all the time when not in the room. If I'm out of a room I always turn the light off. Just habbit!

Not long now!

We're gonna check the National Grid live feed to see if there is a dip at all. I'll post it up.

...Sorry bro but gotta do this ... " the majority of the the world uses high pressure or low pressure sodium & metal halide or high wattage tri-phos' fluorescent ( not inluding halogen as these lights are not ballasted ).. lighting to light the streets ,lowbay industrial lighting , Mways, highways , underpasses etc. Many in house domestic appliances also utilize other forms of ballasting and type of capacitor.

High pressure lighting uses apprx 2-4 times its own power rating to strike , and that time is anywhere between 2-8 mins this includes high wattage tri-phos...therefore my man .. " if you turn the stuff off and restrike after 5mins a lot of stuff is gonna use a lot more power than leaving it on.

All it actually would have acheived in our country had it been taken seriously on mass , would be to burn a lot more fossil and bilge a fleeting yet direct punch of carbon straight up into the heavens !

Bro i aint being a smartass , im the dude for most things enviro friendly .." but lighting is my thang baby " , and so is thinking up peaceful ways to get the suits attention .. but bro , that one if it had been taken onboard by industry to turn off the power ..would have been one up to those that dont give a flesh... not us  8)

Now turn the lights off for a few hours in your house yes and certain other appliances ..mainly your tv! it wont rock the grid but it woud be a spiritual symbol of unity and a good way of trying to recover the lost art of imaginative conversation and play.... but still, the suits aint gonna give a sheeeet ..

..and groping .. dont foget the groping

Cheeze.

Has there been any effort in the industry to recify the powering up problem?
