Went out on Sat and was fantastic! I only played in the white water as it was a bit too big and messy for me out back, it gave me more of a chance to see what I was doing wrong. With a lot of effort (more concentration) 9 out of 10 times I was to my feet riding the white water in :D It was the best 3 hours i've had in the water in ages.

Sunday was smaller and cleaner, with a nice offshore. All the hard work from the day before paid off and managed to catch and ride a few unbroken waves :woot:

Although I found out how hard my Bic is! Got smacked in the mouth and the head, ahhhh some nice bruises for my efforts.

Out at Cayton today - didn't look as nice as surferdude's pics from Scarboro on Saturday tho! - 2-3ft but pretty messy. Looked bigger out back, but I was nowhere near there! Had fun in the white water, but realised how damn unfit I am now...It really told! Now I'm determined to really work on my arm strength. I feel proper knackered and wibbly now....what a wimpy!!

PS. I did get a new suit....and its fleshin fantastic! CSkins 5/4 kids, only 90 quid! Feels weird paddling with mahoosive gloves on though. And have blisters from my new booties...too tight, me thinks!

Bombed down Saltburn today after a meeting in Newcastle that over ran, which meant 45mins in the sea only, and was greeted by this,

This one don't look too bad, was overhead but mostly close outs

Stayed on the inside, cos of the time restrictions and had a couple of nice right handers on the reform. The two old guys on the pier must have had a laugh as i tried to smack one of the lip and fell of backwards tho.

I too was incredably disapointed by what should have been an ok swell. With a period as good and well travelled as it was it should have cut throght the small chop created by the average on/crossshore winds here... but it was absolute mush :(

I'm oping tomorrow morning fairs better withthe lighter winds. Not taking any chances this time and hitting Ceiriad first light!

Another Ace dawnie at the wedge. Glassy as ever but a little drop in the size compared to Thursdays session as its the dreags of the swell now. Blooming dazzling day. superb!
Again makes up for not being able to get out on Friday. :D

Awesome weekend :D

Drove down to devon friday night, slept at the beach and in the water for a dawn session.... Glassy, chest high, good period, and good lulls. Absolutely perfect. Some friends came down and joined me later and it was a top session - and I was aboslutely ripping, if I say so myself

Perfect vertical walls of green face, but with a lazy breaking entry meaning it was easy to get up on the face and up on the lip. Came this close (*holds thumbs and fingers an inch apart*) to scoring a barrel, but it close out just before I got in there, so it turned into a nicely spraying cutback instead

Sunday was smaller but the sets were amazing - a lull for a minute, gentle paddle out, then a perfect set of waist-chest high waves would come in, followed by another lazy paddle back out again. Couldnt have handled a proper paddle out after surfing from dawn til dusk on saturday.

Aching today. Love it. 8)
