totally off my trolley

Postby thaya » Tue Jan 30, 2007 12:29 pm

i've had the strangest night and morning. i got some different painkillers from my dr (cuz my shoulder's been killing me, probably due to surfing) and a lay awake all night thinking about random stuff. Then I got up at 4am (couldn't sleep and felt wide awake) and watched a bit of telly while eating porridge. I took some more painkillers at 7am, then loaded the car up with some random things for work-

a yellow rug (to be sand)
my yukka plant (pretend mini palm tree)
indo board (pretend surf board)
surfing dvds & yoga (visual entertainment)
cds (including the beach boys - for the ultimate experience)
glowsticks (cuz I found them from years ago and thought why not)
and a few other bits n bobs

I decided that my exam classes would benefit from taking a break from work and learning how to relax. I've spent the morning dancing on my desk, waving glow sticks in the air, and pretending to be on the beach surfing. It all seemed quite normal until about half an hour ago and I suddenly realised what I've done. I think the effects have worn off. i wondered why I was getting bizzare looks from my students and passing members of staff.

I've been a complete and total LUNATIC going on about how amazing it is to be alive and how you shouldn't get so stressed about things and should make time for yourself - all morning. AND I made all my classes have a group hug. I can't quite believe what I've done. I'm never going to live it down. I don't understand how painkillers can totally change you like that. I'm starting to worry if word gets out I could get sacked or something.

I've been off my head all morning. I'm in shock. I just didn't realise it until now. I'm sat in the staff room getting wierd looks (or maybe it's paranoia). I'm never touching those tablets again. How RANDOM. Either that or i've totally flipped. Do you think I'm having some sort og breakdown maybe?

That's pretty crazy, but I wouldn't worry about.
Just ditch the meds, or at least don't take 'em before work.
And, if any higher ups confront you about it; it can be easily explained (and and you won't even need to lie about it). And, it's not like you have a history of this kind of behavior (at work at least  )....

It's damn funny reading from this end, but seriously...you shouldn't stress over it.

well, just to add to things, I had another meeting after work which was more boring than usual (if that's possible) and I fell asleep. I was so embarrassed because there were about 20 staff sat round the table. I felt myself going but just couldn't stop... i was slouching in the chair and my head fell right back

what a day.

thanks for the smilies... that pretty much summarises things. i'm off home to mark 60 books, plan 3 lessons for tomorrow, eat and sleep. no time for the gym today

i have NO LIFE. i'm tired and I'm fed up.

*usual rant over now* :D

love you all. GROUP HUG EVERYONE!
