K-bay was death on a big sh*tty stick

It was way overhead and closing out and the reefs were jacking up, then closing out in a hold-down special :?

Ive got some photos which I'll deal with later and post-up.

Basically unsurfable - there were some windsurfers out there having a fantastic time at about a thousand mph, but surfing wasnt going to happen and there was NO-ONE out

Fantastic place though - I look forward to doing it on a clean day (week day - I can see how crowded it'll get at the weekend) and now Ive seen it properly, I'll be better at predicting it

Bit of a wasted day really, but those are the risks....

Yeah, I'd considered bournemouth but PHIL WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COMING TO K-BAY SO I WENT THERE!!!

Then I considered going from k-bay to bournemouth, but my heart wasnt in it anymore and the pub was calling me

K-bay really wasnt working - here's a pic straight out in front of the bay (which, inevitably, doesnt really show the size)

Ledges and bench were huge but a mess, and the bay itself was a bit better but the power was being sucked out by breaking further out so they didnt hold any shape or momentum

Howling onshore gale.

That was the problem - I knew it'd be windy, but I knew it'd be dropping, but it was a gamble whether it dropped in time/enough to make it surfable. It didnt....
