Phil wrote:hawaii sucks, you have been laughed at by many nations not just british. if you wish to moan constanly then people will laugh and take the piss

listen you punk, the reason for this thread was to get feedback on my idea of getting an internship to a ski resort, but i included the other stuff for 2 reasons.

1. humor

2. because im so accustomed to people saying WHY??? WHY??? WHY??? whenever i mention leaving hawaii. in life and on this thread.

what does taking the piss mean?

Yeh I agree - christchurch is definatley the place to be for snow and surf but even on north island somewhere like Taranaki, even Raglan, close to surf but less than a days drive to Tongariro.

I had to go to Glenshee today for work. This is one of the larger of Scotlands 5 resorts and look how much snow we have!!

I would advise anyone who hasn't been here before to NOT come to Scotland for the snow. Massive queues, thin snow, ice, rocks, £28 for a day pass, tows that keep breaking down and bloomin eck does it get windy up there!

French Alps thats the way to go! Snow, sun, powder, great resorts with bars and clubs and French chicks!!! Gotta love those snow bunnies, (forget Austria they're all old and wrinkled).

NZ is OK for surf, west coast(south island) is big typicaly, Raglan, Mangy's meatworks etc are all pretty decent breaks, Taranaki/Gisborn are good spots.

Christchurch doesnt have great surf but for me as a learner it was spot on & New Brighton/scarborough/taylors is OK if you cant make trips to south side of Banks peninsula or Kaikoura.

For snow we have 7 or 8 ski fields within 1.5 hours drive. Mt Hutt is my normal local, most developed field, chair lifts n everything! about 150GBP season pass...

i am part english but mostly german and culturally influenced by japanese. (since i have never dated nor made friends with another fully white-caucasian person)

i am not racist there are just hardly any here. At Uni there are but most are from the mainland and seeing as i moan about hawaii, i dont get along with those hawaii enthusiastic touristy white people.

Sounds like there are racist people there. Believe it or not, people can be racist towards white people. And sounds like the locals hate white people.

And Monty Python kicks ass.

im sure ive complained about that on here before, tomcat. i went to public school. when i was a kid the samoan and micronesians or sole's and micros were my biggest problem. they were usually FOBs themselves. (fresh off the boat)

Snowboarding might be OK, but I'm not gonna do anything where I have to go outside in the cold on purpose.

We have a wicked cold front moving in now. Highs in the 60's, and lows in the 40's, and 50's for at least 5 days.

Cant complain too much, cause its been in the high 70's most of the winter so far. I've been able to surf every week. I usually never go in the water during January, and February. Our water temps have been good to. Holding at 64F for the last few weeks. When it gets below 60, I keep my @ss on the beach.

Nothing better than an 85 degree day with the water temp at 82.

Quoting monty python is a very tedious thing which all english do and hawaiisucks is absolutely right in saying that the english (and welsh... and trinidadians in this case) are very boring and have no sense of humour whatsoever, and to back up his well-constructed and thoughtful argument, I would just like to mention that no-one ever did expect the spanish inquisition.
