Switched round a few of my work hours so I could get out this avo.

G-rock produeced a little less than I was expecting from a 16ft swell but still a solid 4ft on the sets pushed thourhg the 50mph winds and hollowed and cleaned up as this spot does. Great fin. very wall like today long kegs agian but not overly makeable. When for the launches today and got some heafty nailing on the boulders. My legs are suitably tenderised but stoke is super high after fiannly riding its full length DK.

Got in at East Runton today - finally!!

Had an awsome day, got to my feet on multiple occasions so very very chuffed. I'd almost forgotten how good it feels be to be surfed out...

got in at boscombe today, it was about 1ft and 1.5 on the sets cleanish, but not that good, used my new bilbo and it rips, i had some huge carves and a couple of good top turns which im proud off as iv come from longboarding

Got in at wittering on sunday - fantastic day

The tides were right so I could surf from dawn til dusk, and the waves were pretty good too. Knee to waist in the morning on the dropping tide and glassy smooth at times, but there was a gusty wind which kept coming ang going. It got much bigger on the push in the afternoon, but a touch messier.

I got some very nice waves, and put down some nice turns

The place was a bit cluttered with kooks at times - several guys on BICS/NSP's (sorry to all of you out there on bics and nsps, but they were...) seemed utterly horrified to see me flying down the line shouting "left, left, left!!" at them. I dont think they'd realised it was possible to go left.... :roll:

But seeing as later on I did the best/worst pearl since having a go on Phil's longboard, maybe I shouldnt be criticising the kooks :oops:

yay libs!

I went for a surf at shoreham on sunday afternoon. 3-4ft waves. really nice weather - sun shining, gentle breeze, water not even cold. my first wave was fantastic - got straight up to my feet and rode it all the way. I'd forgotten how good it feels! Shoulder hurting a bit more today, but not too bad considering.

I finally got in yesterday, first time since October so needless to say I surfed like a complete kook (not that i wouldn't have anyway, but we all need our excuses! :lol:

) very messy and blown out so I only stayed in for about 40 mins, and i got my ass kicked completely :lol:

. probably wasn't worth going in at all as i only stood up once, for all of about 2 seconds, but it's scratched an itch for a while!

And now my Christmas flu, which i'd just about got rid of, is back with a vengeance! Oh well!

Wow... East winds... Not seen these in a while

Very much enjoyed in the water before 1st light thismorning 4ft glassy reef. good crack, jsut a shame the tides where early Stilll good and getting out agian this avo

Starting to really go for it at last, confidence is high and I'm hitting the lip on every wave. Its about time I did!

Average sesh at a point today... bit disapoiting as winds knocked down the swell a bit but still 2-3ft comming through.

3strike oporation went into action today and on the 3rd drop in I pulled up one of the not so local abersoch guys and just got a mouthfull of xxxxx back... there is jsut no need. Then he tried blaming me for pictures on the MSW chart pages which has nothign to do with me... Infact I got some of them to be removed as they where location sensitive. Then one of the others who fully well knows I have livedn in the area for longer then the original guy and he gives me xxxxx. All I wanted to know was why he had suddenly turned into an ass and if I really had done somthing wrong I'd understand. I'm proberly the most curtious person in the average line-up.

Last year this guy was fine (on his own) seems when he's with the real local guys he gets a head on him.

Real shame....

Got a late call and got in at N bay Scabs, 2-3ft clean, bigger on the sets. Rights full off longboarders, so quickly gave that up, but middle peak was giving some nice lefts and rights, a few carving it up, but plenty left for the rest of us. Ooh more to come.

I had a really bad experience yesterday. I was out at shoreham again. There were about 8 people in the water. I spend at least 20mins sh*tting myself watching the waves and try to judge the timing to get past the shoredump. At one point I did actually think that I was completely insane as the shoredump was higher than me, so I turned back, sat down and watched it for another 10 mins.

Then I decided that having just driven 50mins and got into my wetsuit I may as well give it a go... after all, all the blokes out back were having a blast.

By this time some guy had been stood not too far away watching it too and we both made a move at the same go. I thought I'd timed it ok. I ran in after it had settled, jumped on my board and started paddling out FOR MY LIFE as I just caught a glimpse of what was heading for me. Unfortunately my bad shoulder said "no" and had no strength to go anywhere very fast.

I was about half a metre from getting over it, but right at the top it flung me & my board backwards. I SWEAR ON MY LIFE it was TWICE my height (about 10ft) SERIOUSLY. This other guy would vouch for that too. I knew at that instant I was FLESHED.

It slammed me right back on to the shore, with my limbs and head practically being torn from my body. I was expecting that, but what I wasn't expecting was for the leash to wrap around my neck (HOW????) and the board to continually hit me on the head with the most enormous force. I genuinely thought i was going to die... everytime the board hit me on the head i could 'feel' stars and the leash was getting tighter around my neck. I was still holding my breath, realising that I wasn't going to get out of this very quickly. it must have been about 45secs (I started counting to calm myself down as I thought it's be over quickly, but actually it made me more stressed as the number got higher) it felt like a lifetime, and on the last bang on my head I was actually half knocked out.

I have no idea how I escaped. I remember crawling on my hands and knees up all the pebbles (which have cut me to pieces and i look like I was in some sort of fight... against a freight train). Once i got far enough away from the sea i lay on the shore seeing stars, unable to move and crying like a baby (yes, I totally admit it :oops:

). The other guy who'd gone in at the same time as me came over with his board in two pieces (I'm glad that did't happen to my board *feels lucky to have sturdy NSP*) He asked if I was ok, I said yes (but obviously meaning NO) and he walked off (men eh :roll:

). I lay on the shore for about 2hours, totally shaken up and physically unable to stand. Then I stopped crying and went home, where I swore never to surf again.

Dont be silly Thaya, you know in a few weeks you'll be gagging to get back out again

Just pick a day with small clean waves and no shore dump. Maybe pick a different spot, that one seems a bit cursed for you

I got up at 5.30am, was pickd up at 6.30am got down to the coast for dawn and it was totally blown out and unsurfable. We checked out Cromer, Runton and even drove along to sea palling in desperation! No waves though

Buuuuuut looks like im going to be in Woolacombe around the 2nd of February for a bit of a surf trip
