Not to make anyone jealous, but I got up about midday and I've been playing Gran Tourismo 4 all day. I'm not back at work till Monday.

Today 'at work' is going much better - I went out last night, had some beers with Mrs DBBB, had a curry, had some more beers, and Ive just got up ready for a hard day 'working at home'

I guess it's alright for some. I had to cover a bottom set science lesson today (and I was never that good at science). i thought I'd be able to scrape through though (being foundation level) but there was loads of stuff I didn't know

I learnt something new today :D - about photons. According to the book I read hurridly while pretending to know what I was talking about, a photon is an energy packet of radiation. Sources emit energy photon after photon and absorbers gain the energy photon by photon. The energy deposited by a beam of electromagnetic radiation depends on the numbers of photons arriving and the energy that each photon delivers.

I was very proud of myself for explaining that to the kids. It's probably common knowledge... but for me that was really difficult to get my confused little head around. It made me realise how lucky I am to teach philosophy - it's a lot easier as I can waffle about stuff for ages and it's not like there are right and wrong answers!
