Ive done that once, last winter when it was just too cold. It worked too, The wetsuit held all the water in and my car was fine. Just make sure you lay towels out in your car obviously.

I wear my birthday suit under my wettie  . What do you all wear :?:

So, what does everyone wear at what temps?

the water out here is down to 45 (f), but it's going to be 70 (F)(!!) on Saturday.

70 in the middle of January.

I'm considering using a 3 mil full suit, gloves and boots. What ya'll think?

A guy I surf with got his wife to make a kinda dress thing made out of a towel.

What you do, is take the top off, and then put the robe/dress/towel thingy on, which goes down to your knees, and then you can take off your suit in privacy in a busy parking lot. Kinda looks like a night gown I guess.

Hey rich, I didn't see your post until now. Hope you got out Sat. it was pretty damn good here in MD.

I just wore a 3/2 full with 3mm gloves and 5mm boots, no hood(slightly chilly, but not bad at all).

That raises an interesting question, what are "wetsocks" ? And how do they compare to booties?

So they're as warm as booties, they've just got no grips and don't protect your feet from steppin' on stuff. right?

Thanks mate. Much appreciated.

Not necessarily as warm as booties as they also come in different thicknesses....I have a pair for work which are probably only 2mm but they do make a difference!

They are mainly for us Spongers.... As they help stop pizza foot from rubbing fins as well as fitting inside the fins with ease unlike formed boots. You can get some with soles pads and dot padding.
