stickers = kook?

Postby Beachbum » Tue Jan 09, 2007 7:27 am

My new used board I got for Christmas has some stickers on it and my friends brothe, a surfer as well told me that I'll look like a kook with stickers on my board. I didn't really mind them being on there since it came like that and should I take his advice and take them off? There are like 3 on the front and one on the back rail of the board.

They are kinda kooky.
Because sometimes it makes you look like your sponsered by the branded stickers on your board, which is alright if you're really good :wink:
but if you're not great, in my opinion, that can make you look a bit like a kook.
But in all honesty do you really care whether people think you are a kook? I'd just leave them on.

Also beware of what is under the stickers. The stickers maybe covering up some dings that may let water leak into the board. If you want to take them off you may need to buy some new ones. Just a thought.

i think if you want stickers on your board to make it look a bit more fun or interesting then you should, who cares if it makes you look like a kook, people can make that judgement by your surfing not your board!

but yeah good point about them covering up dings, check that one out.

ill step off my soapbox now lol :D

Yeah, thats true. I have stickers on my board. I put them on it when I was small and did'nt even know what a kook was and I thought they looked cool, so they're still there now.

When I was a teen, it was all about getting stickers at the local shop and putting them on your board.

Now, it's the 'clean' look.

But do what you want. No reason to be a slave to fashion. Then you really would be a kook.
