why do we have to work?

I'm just pondering this question. I've been at work for 11 and a half hours and I've got another 2 to go. why oh why oh why? why can't I be on a gorgeous warm and sunny beach surfing all day and sipping cocktails all night (amongst other things ) I'm supposed to be talking to parents right now *shudder* but I'm having a quick break sipping tea and wondering what I'd do if I won the lottery (which I never enter). I think I'd quit my job asap and go travelling for a year or 2, then figure out what to do with all my money and free time. I'd buy myself a pink longboard and a better car, a nice pad next to a surfable beach with a massive swimming pool. maybe I could pay for my own personal trainer and some fit lifeguards why do I spend hours contemplating this? would money REALLY make me happy? afterall, all I need is a surfboard and some clothes, surely. maybe I should sell all my possessions (not that I actually own much) and disappear into the sunset?

yep. we always chat about what jobs we'd do if we didn't teach. i'm still not sure... i always think it would be fun to be a zoo keeper, or a paramedic, or some sort of conservation officer (but not stuck behind a desk)... something that gets me out and about and doesn't involve hormonal teenagers

true, but a Paramedic? I think that would be a tough job. I dont know how they manage their lunch break.

Zoo Keeper is apparently in the top ten jobs that most people would want to do, an excellent ideology.

I think i have my perfect job, surf shop owner, although i am now spending less time in the water.

I think every job has it's downer parts. No matter what it is.
You just need to sell everything except your bikini, rashguard and board and move to a tropical third-world locale where you can try to survive by your good looks and your surfing.

I would love to do that, but I have a feeling it wouldn't be successful for me.

Of course, shaping would be completely awesome--but I don't have any intentions of making that my day job. China boards are too cheap for local shapers to keep up with.

My ideal job is London Fire service. Unfortunately, last year, having aced two written exams, two physical exams, a psycological profile (how?! ) and a teams work skills exercise I fleshed up the final interview.

I have to start all the lovely tests again this year.
