Met Phil (and the lovely emma) at saunton yesterday. Disgusting weather, but the surf was pretty good in the morning. Gentle offshores and about chest high :D

Image

Me and phil were both struggling to catch waves - him, because he was on his lovely new board, and me cos I was on a 6'6 at saunton ( :bang: ) and Im hopelessly unfit after christmas

But the waves phil got, he absolutely flew :D

And I ended up getting some decent rides too - very long and with some nice turns :D

Then it all went onshore, and horribly wrong...

I drove down friday night, slept in Braunton Burrows, then surfed saturday - I was gonna stay the night and surf sunday morning, but the wind had already picked up by saturday afternoon and it wasnt going to improve so I drove back saturday night.

All in all, a ridiculous amount of driving for about 2 hours of decent surf and 2 decent waves!

Cheers Phil. Real stoked that it's working for you. It was allways going to be harder to paddle than the death star, way less volume and far more rocker.
It'll get you fitter for when you go for one of my fishes later this year mate....

Looking forward to some more updates.

Heya guys, long time no see! Love you all! Anyway, the evil ISP people have been screwing around, so now I have no internet  (I won't name names, but never do business with an ISP whose name is an anagram of itscali  ) So, having to type this out at work super sneaky while the boss is out. Anyway, where was I?....

Oh yes, latest surf(s)!
Well, got back from Ireland on sunday! Greatest holiday ever!
Really fantastic, was staying in Glenbeigh. Beautiful waves most of the week. Highlight was a beautiful sesh at Bunnonear (sic). Caught my first REAL wave; I've tried and tried, but I usually either end up missing the wave or catching it just after it's broken. But this time I got it perfect, and glided down the face of a perfectly formed double overhead wave. Sorry if this all garbled up, I'm still on a high from it :D A big thanks to the local surfers who made us feel welcome, 'specially Kierran!

Well, anyway, I'll shut up now. TTYL.

Rare breaker was set off today. Left hand point about 200meter rides when the sections worked on the sets. Way cleaner than that last time I had it but only about 3-4ft on the sets.

Good fun never the less!
