Just finished glassing the bottom phil. Went well, neatest glassing job i've done yet. Had to be though as due to the paint on the deck i can't sand it until the decks glassed.

Thats looking fantastic Kitey!

Was wondering when you are shapingyour boards, how do you keep things symetrical? Do you use a template laid onto the blank? Or is it done by eye?

For the outline i cut one side of the blank first, fair it in then make template from that to do the other side. Then you just make sure that when shaping you allways do the same to one side that you do to the other.

The boards all finished now. :D
Photos are in the camera but probably won't get a chance to upload them till the new year. Hope to get some photos of phil and me surfing with the board on new years day though.

Watch this space.

It's nice isn't it. What you can't see are the very fashionable plastic bags i have taped on my feet to go with the outfit!!

There aren't any photos of me doing the hotcoat but there are some of the finshed board and some of my techniques for fitting the fins.

Damn nice job KS. I really like the paint work. Nice to see a kinda old school looking board when so many are going crazy with the paint. Seems like most boards now days have a bad acid trip look to them.

Yeah wanted to go for something simple as it was my first spray job as well as being the first longboard i've shaped.
Glassing went really well actually tomcat got away with 1300ml of resin for the bottom lam plus it's cold here at the mo so plenty of time to glass.
