Foot placement?

Postby jdec83 » Mon Dec 18, 2006 9:34 pm

I moved down from a 7'2" to a 6'3" on the 7 I could pop and and ride easily, now, though sometimes I manage to pop up quite cleeanely, the majority of the time I seem to either be leaving to the right and the board automatically starts turning right, or I am too far back. I know I need to get my foot on the grip pad, but when I do it's almost like all my weight is on my back foot (regular footed) any suggestions?

how short/tall are you? you are riding a shorter board now, so it's not as stable as your 7'2"..it'll take time before you get used to it..goodluck!

Just practise mate :D Your body needs to adjust to the new size. you will get it right like second nature though. However i found the grip pad to be a godsend it automatically lets me know if im positioned right. Just try to get the back foot to that spot each time and you weight distrabution will come with practise :D

Oh the surf might not have been particulally forgiving of recent so i wouldnt think too much of it.
