I love Christmas, don't get any gifts myself but seeing the kids faces when they open their pressies is the best feeling.

Oh and there's the parties, the endless sesh down the pub, not that i normally need an excuse, its just there if the missus complains.

huh?! my mates just left for Florida yesterday.... u don't have a daughter called harriet do u?! lol

i like christmas but i only start getting excited when everythings done and i have bought precisely no presents so far. and i finish school on Monday so i need 2 get all my mates present before then. I also have work on saturday so i only have sunday 2 get presents 4 them and i dont have a monkeys idea what to do lol.

Any ideas for pressies?

i get a bit sick of xmas starting in sep...

the only thing I like about xmas day is eating lots of nice food and knowing you don't have to do anything all day... it's like the only day you can guarantee you don't have to do stuff, so that's nice... but i think it gets a bit dull when you get older... no toys to play with! (please don't misinterpret that!) plus I hate xmas telly. agh!!!!!! I guess it'd be nice if you have a family or younger kids around *longs for a family and lots of pressies *

oh well, it'll be great to see my mates and get pissed!!!

I have to say Nay to crimbo. I agree wholehartedly with DBBB's well delivered christmas statement (sorry Lib). Suprising considering theres more food and drink than you can shake a stick at but I would love to miss it altogether!

If I want something I'll buy it, the 'its so nice to see the kids faces lighting up' thing doesnt do it for me either. Last year my neice concluded that her presents wernt expensive enough and wailed about it for a good 30 mins before sulking for the rest of the evening

As for the actual eve and day itself - trapped in the VERY overcrowded house with relatives, when the only place I want to be is the pub!

Libby is right re the pressies 'Lush' is great!! and its a good thing you've left it late because the products are relatively fresh anyway so have a short lifespan.

My birthday is on the 21st, so it tends to get a bit lost.

Last year I got one of those 'good gift' cards. It was an AK-47 Rifle, that has been bought for some dude in Africa to melt down and make into farm tools...which i though was a rad present.

Unless your a parent, tidy all wrapping paper, nip to the garage or Spar for batteries cos you forgot them, tidy packaging, explain how the toys work, peel veg, put food on, set table, serve food, get tipsy, have a nap, make some tea, put kids to bed drink more fall asleep.

i think it gets a bit dull when you get older

But christmas isnt about pressies!!!!

Im getting sod all this year but im still really excited. And its not even that i have the happiest family in the whole world, my brother and his fiancee will sit there being grumpy all day, drinking fosters, burping and generally taking the piss out of me.


I just like the fact that for one day only my mum, dad and me, and usually my brother and his fiance will be under one roof with nothing to worry about.

Contrary to christmas being about shopping christmas day is the one day in the year when the shops are actually shut!

Life slows down, just for a day or two and i think that everybody should make the most of it, whether it is traditional overindulgence and laziness or spending the day surfing. Its just a day about people. Nothing else.

Good point - I got a water supply for a remote village in Guatamalla (sp) for my sister. She thought it was great! I did like that bit. Thanks for the reminder - i'll get onto that now!

Hey, I like christmas, but I don't like how materialistic people become.

I love it because my family are together and thats all that really matters to me.

Will be spending my first christmas in my first house which is VERY exciting.
