nah, just for school...before i was in a faraway land called 'michigan.'

why, then, am i on a surf forum? i studied abroad in sydney, oz...and lived in a place about a 30 second walk from bondi beach and had a living room view the waves.

and now my secondhand 7'6 bear is sitting in my mom's basement in michigan, huge ding on the rail (thank you very much worldbaggage.com.au)

it took me 40 min. yesterday. but its kind of a zig zag 6 miles. usually during rush hour it takes 30.

"enjoying it while im here" is actually why i started surfing 4 years ago.

and why not get stoned so much? its so popular in hawaii it should be legal.

the truth is unless have homework to do, or i need to get up early the next morning, i smoke. i dont get stoned though, just buzzed.

Hey, do want you want; I don't judge.

But, just think about moderation, or taking a break for a while every now and again...

For me, I just like to be out in the water. It's best when either no one else is around, or just me and my mates. In Hawaii theres probably not a lot of spots where that is possible, but the spots I surfed when I lived in Taiwan rarely had surfers in the water that I didn't know pretty well.

My idea of the perfect day is just being out there in the ocean. I feel more relaxed and at peace there than anywhere else in the world.

the university of colorado...its in boulder. its very nice, but UH sounds ideal.

my surfboard cost $400 australian and thats it. on the ohter hand, skiing costs $300 american for a season pass, plus skiis, boots, gas money...so i don't do that very much. what about you, where you from then?

Yeah, skiing is ridicuously expensive. skis, bindings, boots, lift....it goes on forever. But I really do like skiing.

I'm actually still in HS....one more year, so I need to find somewhere. I'm from Virginia (yes, there is snow [sorta] and is an ocean [sorta]), I kinda wanna stay close for college, yet not too close. Not a huge school, hopefully close to the ocean and mountains, but most beach schools around here are pretty bad, and the mountain schools are good, but far from the beach. And there is really nothing between the mountains and beach.

Don't know what I want to do in college or afterwards. I like building stuff, that's pretty much it.

Dude, I think the thing is, you've grown up in Hawaii so you really don't appreciate it. Once you get a little older (what are you, 18-19?), move away from the ocean, and work a while, you'll kick yourself for every day you spent baked when you could be out in the water. I had to move inland this summer to start medschool. I live in a dirty, disgusting city, that is either freezing cold, or hot as hell. Its a concrete jungle with nothing but ugly buildings and poor people. I would give a lot to move back to the beach (damn you Univeristy of Hawaii, and all CA schools for rejecting me). Enjoy it man, trust me.

And I smoked my share when I was younger, it gets old after a while.
