hawaiiSUCKSex, where do you go for a vacation?
you need some crosstraining activities, longboard skateboard? bicyling?
wakeboarding? kitesurfing? hopefully something that would keep you in shape for surfing, a couple months without surfing is not very good.

Laird Hamilton goes paddling on flat water off the coast of Maui. Just this week, 7 time F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher was out driving a go-kart. If you have true passion for a sport, then there are many situations that you can enjoy.

At the end of the day, I believe that it's attitude and personal choice - and not just skill level, that factors in to the "fun" quotient.

Have a great day on the water.

aah just to update

i have been out a few times since, not during the week since i am too busy.

i went up to the north shore 3x last weekend, caught a few waves, saw jack johnson, and got my ass handed to me by waves more than twice my height.

now its small everywhere again but i got the beating i needed.

Definately those flat spells are needed after a decent but wooping!

Hey, about the north shore...how shallow are the reefs at sunset and Pipe? I know wailua and kammies are fairly deep, but if you take a drop to hard you will hit it.

i dont think its bad, the south shore is worse. but im not experienced with either, i always go to jockos or off the rocks. i havent surfed pipe nor sunset much. all i know is that i didnt see any rocks sticking out and had no incidents when i went to them, but it may have been at high tide.

eh, i envy each and every one of you: try being in colorado...no beach for 1000s of miles. but, hey, i still have this site on my bookmarks bar, and my homepage is for swellnet.com.au, and i still subscribe to a daily e-mail from aquabumps.com

yea, it might be pathetic, but...well, its pathetic. who cares, i miss it.

i'll trade you my mountains for your beaches.

hawaii has the best surf, not perfect, but still. no argument from me. but ...

well.. at 7 this morning it took me a hot sweaty 40 min. to drive to school about 6 miles away. i cant ride my bike because i live halfway up the fricken mountain. the bus travels through downtown and takes 2 hours at rush hour. and its fricken december and im sweating first thing in the morning.

we dont buy christmas trees because they rot too fast. my mom picked up a wreath 1 week ago and already its stunk up the living room like sour mold, if she doesnt do it im throwing it out in the morning.

and thats just what happend today. i didnt even have to go to work.

passionfor... - where in colorado? snowboarding??? im going to visit my friend in colorado springs who of course like most people i know who grew up in hawaii loves where she lives now (and probably just being off the rock in general).

hawaii is like growing up in a small town surrounded by nothing and no way out. of course most of the young people want to leave.

Hawaii I dont think you realise that EVERYBODY (just about) feels like that about where they live. I grew up surrounded by fields and sheep and its a 5 mile drive to the nearest town, and i dont drive. There are 2 buses a day and its cold for alot of the year. But guess what? Looking back at it now i can see it was an amazing place to live.

Maybe you should either stop complaing and leave or learn to look on the bright side of life.

Yeah, pretty much every place I visited the kids that lived there would say something like "man, this town sucks. There's nothing to do here. I can't wait to leave."

Really try to enjoy what you've got because you will miss it when it's gone.

And, don't get so frickin' stoned all the time, man... :P
