Postby barrelled2perfection » Fri Aug 06, 2004 12:24 pm

Looks like the westcountry is in for a treat this sunday and the begginning of the week ay?!?! Hurricane Alex is making its way accross the Atlantic and bringing some decent sized swell in our direction. Finally, some good swell....I guess its been a while... can't wait!! Have fun everyone! (i hear the south coast will be getting some swell too for a change!)

yep and its supposed to be cross-offshore on sunday when the swell starts to show as well on north cornwall/devon coast! but seek sheltered breaks as it may be larger at others but not as clean, the boardmasters should get some decent swell (its a first!!)

Have fun guys!!

Have heard that the swell is likely to last untill the begining of next week. Planning on getting some surfing in on Tuesday. This may sound stupid but fear the swell may be too big for us to surf (only beginners). Is the south east (i.e Bournemouth) likely to recieve any swell at all, as we only want a couple of foot..

Apparently so! Although it maybe a big messy, at least they will definately be something to play with! People say the lines were starting to show at boscombe this morning so it looks like everyone everywhere is in for a treat!!!

i got it in florida too and it was amazing. i surfed it in jax and it got the have 10ft faces and it was breaking perfectly. i got 5 turns on one wave. also had some great floater sections. i got scared after getting drilled by one of the sets and caught one more and went in. i was really tired anyway. i got away with a 5'8 in the begging but i changed to a 6'3. good luck to you europeans.

dude if you took the time to even think about it you would realise that Inletsurfer was saying, it was a foot over their head, i.e about 7 ft. Man, if you would just stop trying to put everyone else down, you wouldn't come across such a jerk.

YEah man the banks have been really good the last few years they really step up the face, ideal for us b00gers. Main beach at Woola is ok but unless its big I tend to find the waves are more rollers... need a bit more power :)
