Postby vman1982 » Sat Nov 25, 2006 11:51 am

Hi Guy, I'm hoping my face will have healed up ready as I'm going down to Newquay for Christmas I just wondering where the best places to go? for drinks. surf and everything basically just want some ideas. I want to trade my board in as I've lost faith in it since the finn caused me major injury's. Anybody reccomend anything?

Cheers

Sam

Just change the fins (unless they're glassed on).
FCS do some with a thin rubber coating on them thats supposed to stop things like that happened to you. Its the K-Flex fin.

For the best time surfing pretty much anywhere N coast is going to be quiet (God bless winter) so you'll have your pick of breaks. When nothing else is going down, Gwithian frequently catches what little swell there is.

As for a good time lash-wise you want to avoid Newquay; there's a reason the cornish folks don't go there. St Ives has a few lovely little bars and some truly awesome restaurants. I don't know what your budget is but the 'Porthminster Beach Cafe' and 'Onshore' do some of the best seafood you'll taste.
