ive been living in hawaii for 4 months, and have to go back to the mainland. i'm looking to buy a boardbag, have a 6'7" and 6'2". Never used them before. Does the bag have to fit my boards perfectly? Are the bags built EXACTLY to specs? anyone know, is DAKINE or FCS better for bags? appreciate any info. thanks.

Best fit board bags

Hi Brad, welcome to Surfing Waves.
Funnily enough I have this minute added some shopping pages to the site including some board bags
<Shameless Plug> - http://localhost/Browse/surfing-accesso ... oard-bags/ </Shameless Plug> :D

Living in Hawaii eh - did you get some quality surfing in? I'm interested to know more.

You do not need to be to bothered about the size of your surfboard bag, get a twin board bag which fits your 6'7 as close as possible and that will be ok. You can always pack out any space left by your 6'2'' with a rashie or something.
Look at getting a bag that has a decent thickness outer foam layer and internal straps to tie your boards together on the inside. Don't be tempted to go for the $40 boardbag - they do the job when strapping your board to the roof of your car to get to the surf but they are no good for international flights, pay that bit extra and get a decent board.

is DAKINE or FCS better for bags

Both make good quality bags and either will see your boards home in one piece.

You could do worse than the FCS Double Cover - it comes in a 6'7''. Check out one in the local surf shop.

Ok, anyone else got any info or have experience of a Dakine, FCS or any other bag for that matter.
