fun to play, learned it last night in 2 hours, just have to learn to play it better and quicker. sweet little song

Jethrodod, which chords do you use for that?

All, I've got a Korg mixing studio, but haven't mastered it at all. Is it easier to get stuff done through the pc instead? Which software is good?

I play it in F# here's the chords used in the verse: F#, A, E, F# (octave higher), C#
all barre chords, listen to the song, you'll see where to stick them in
STart the opening solo on 9th fret on 5th string (or 14th fret on 6th string if you prefer) and work up the F# minor pentatonic scale, that's all he uses. Pretty easy to figure out what goes when but if you have a problem, check out www.ultimate-guitar.com for good tabs. I have it tabbed on Guitar Pro if you have GP I can send you the tab all done.
Second solo: again, uses F# pent., just fool around with it until the verse satrts again.

Oh yeah, and anybody else know that he tried out for Metallica in high school? Him and Kirk Hammet went to school together, when he tried out, everyone was just kinda like...."umm, I think you're too good for us...."

I always found that hilarious.

That's awesome!! I'd never heard that. And I agree, I think he is too good for them :D Hands down, I believe he is one of the best and most innovative guitarists and/or bassists ever.

I have pc programs for editing but I have never tried them out yet. Been looking at getting a Line 6 Pod for direct to pc recording. ANy one with experience with these or something like it? I figure it would be easier and cheaper than using a recording station.

I thought it might be a good way to try out the recording thing without dropping alot of cash. Might still try it, then if I dig it i will look at something alittle more traditional.

I will scan in the pages and email it to you here in the next hour or so.

Okay, I sent it off. Let me know if you got it, hopefully you did.
There were a couple spots on the PDF where it is a little fuzzy but I think you can make it out. If you have problems let me know, I can try scanning it again or I can let you know what the fuzzy parts are.
Enjoy!

Yeah, I've seen them a few times too.

Have you heard of Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains?

It's got BucketHead (insane guitarist), Bernie Worrell on keyboards from Parliment/Funkadelic and Brian "the Brain" Mantia on drums. They've got one album. I saw them live; insane show!

jethrodog wrote:Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver is one of the best songs ever. And it is insane to play. Tip of the hat to you. :D I haven't even attempted to get into Primus. The old fat fingers just don't have the jump.

I should clarify that not all of the sections sound like they do on the album  :P , but I was able to play it all the way through at one point. I wish I could get all the different tones out of my bass that he does (hell, I'd even settle for one. )
