Pavones - Costa Rica in Oct/Nov

Has anyone had experience surfing Pavones (southern Pacific coast of Cosat Rica) in October or November? I saw on a website that, on a scale of 1-10 for wave size and consistency, that October was a 9 for Pavones and then November dropped to a 5. I'm wondering if the swells really drop that much. It looks like my wondow of travel would be the last 2 weeks of October and I want to catch Pavones on a South swell. Any experience/advice.
