Advice needed from all you Cornish folk!

'Ello ello ello,

I've decided to spend my last summer of freedom (before I sell my soul to the British Army) doing what I love; surfing.

I'm thinking of living in Cornwall for the summer, getting a bar job, working evenings and surfing during the day. I've never done owt like this so i'm in need of advice.

Where can I stay for a whole summer for dead cheap? Is it worth looking for someone with a spare room in a flat for the summer, what are my options?

Where should I go? I can imagine it'd be easiest getting work in Newquay due to all the tourism but that really puts me off. I'd love to be somewhere like Sennen (Anyone live or go there often?), nice and quiet y'know, but places like that'll have no work going for folks like me.

Well, any advice would be much appreciated.

1. If you don't mind staying in a tent for the whole Summer (not as glamorous as it seems) and working in a pub, you will probably be OK in Sennen Cove

2. WHY ARE YOU GOING TO JOIN THE ARMY? Sleeping in holes is not my idea of good living! Join the Navy instead... sleep in your own bed every night, eat hot cooked meals and see the world!

I really don't know if I'd want to live in a tent all summer, but I'm sure it'd be worth it to be able to surf whenever I felt like it!

Isn't there only one pub in the whole of Sennen Cove? I could get work in Penzance but without a car I'd have no way of getting to the beach. Is there anywhere else like Sennen, not too touristy but good surfing, and with work opportunities? (I'm not asking for much, am I? )

As for the army...well...err...They have their own surfing team!!
