Confused on ding repair choices

Okay, so I've read an enormous amount or repair articles on the web, but still cant get a definite answer. I want my end result to have a glossy finish. The brand I seem to wanna choose is Ding All..not the pre-mixed tubes, but seperate components for me to assemble.

I just cant figure out the difference between poly and epoxy resin..My board is poly, so I'd like to go the same. Does the epoxy not dry clear, and do some of these poly choices not dry clear as well? I'm stumped!

Is the laminating bottle just for the outer surface?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

You want polyester hot coat resin. It will dry clear, non tacky, and somewhat shiny. (yes, shiny enough)

Sun cure is good stuff, and you can do it on the beach or something if you have to. I think it's a good idea.

But if you must--still buy the ding repair resin, it should be polyester hot coat resin. Lam resin dries tacky, and will always be tacky. It will also have black finger prints from the oils from your hands.

The difference between poly and epoxy resin is like the difference between latex and oil based paints.

Boards are either epoxy or poly, and you need to use the materials that match for any repair.

You wouldn't try and patch a oil-painted wall with latex paint. Don't try to use epoxy to patch poly.

Here's another question about repairs, kinda on the same line:

I got a small ding on the front of my new epoxy board. Not big, more like a 3/4" mini slash. It is deep enough to go through the top layers but not into the foam. I need to repair it but I would like to match the color as best I can. Do I repair the cut then paint it? Paint it then repair? Repair, no paint? You guys know way more than I do so any help is appreciated.

Is the board airbrushed? Swirl on foam? Swirl in glass? Tint in glass? Airbrushed ontop of glass?

Board is a Cobalt epoxy, baby blue color on bottom and up around edges/sides. I wouldn't say it's airbrushed but then again I don't really have much of a clue. It looks to me as if it was painted then had the top coat put on. What ever that top coat is. I am thinking that I would repair the slash, then paint then cover with clear coat. Good/bad? In the end if it is a huge hassle I will probably just repair it and not worry about the paint. I'm sure it won't be my only ding....
