Please don't steal me!!

Hello folks!

I was wandering if anyone had any tips on keeping your belongings safe while catching a few.

I don't have a car and get to where I surf (Tynemouth) on the train. This means that I can't just leave my belongings in the car and keep my keys in my suit/leash strap.

Until now I've been hiring a suit and so just kept my gear at the shop. The past couple of times I've surfed I've changed on the beach, left my stuff there and hoped for the best, hiding my wallet and phone in a pocket in my board bag. I know this isn't wise but I don't know what else to do.

Any advice :?:

Befriend another surfer, lift share etc....

Or see if you can leave you stuff with a shop.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know what the beach is like or if there are people there hanging out for the day. Maybe see if you can leave it with or near them.

Well you don't need your mobile to go surfing so leave that at home. Hang your keys around your neck inside your wetsuit. Wear a really smelly horrible pair of clothes that no ones gonna steal and if they do hey ho just go home in your wetsuit. Only take enough money for the train so no wallet either.
Speak to el timmo he goes naked surfing all the time!

Dont take your wallet, instead take enough cash or one card to get you through the day put that and your keys in pouchy /pendant thang and tuck it down the back of your wetty on the end of a decent lanyard /chord / chain ..jobs a good'un

Yeah - usually don't bring anything I'll really miss with me. Put a towel, drink, food and wax in an old crappy backpack and position it on the beach so I can see it. Enough surfers around that I usually don't have to worry. Otherwise, I'd stash it somewhere that it looks like trash and no one's gonna go through it anyway.
