Surfing beaches

Postby dilturd » Thu Oct 19, 2006 11:43 pm

I need to find out whether you get pebbled surf beaches. All the beaches I know that are surfed at are sandy. I need the information for a study that I'm doing.

I understand that you can get pebbled stone breaks, but are the actual beaches themselves all pebbled?

South coast UK has got lots of pebbly breaks.

Although the actual wave will be over a sandy bottom, it breaks onto a pebbly beach.

Generally though, if waves are frequent and powerful enough to surf, then a few million years of waves will have worn down the pebbles to sand :D

I was living in brighton, and it's all bloody pebbles down there until the tide goes out.
