"You know what? Drugs have done good things for us. If you don't think drugs have done good things for us; I want you to go home tonight and take all your tapes all your CDs and burn 'em. 'Cause you know those great musicians that have created all that music that has enhanced your lives through out the years. RRRRRRREEEEEAAAAALLLLL f.u.c.kin high on drugs!" - The late great comedian Bill Hicks

.. " Well !!... there are two trains of thought on this ! , the first is that it was a 'factual' saying used by sailors of old when commiting a dead person to the sea .. the body sack used to wrap said dead-un was weighted with 9 ounces or 9, nine ounce shot balls and if the stitching wasnt adequate then the " 9 " were lost ....

the second is that it was just a saying made up by seamstress'es to highlight the need for focused stitching ... if the stitcher was not paying attention to her work then the 'bad' stitch would need to be repaired with "9" extra stitches ...

Over the years the saying/phrase has become a standard reference to .. " if your work is inedequate then you will waste far more time repairing that work than doing it properly in the first place "

anything else you wanna know lex' ? hehehe :P

hmm, i always thought it was about procrastination, as in if you get a rip in your clothes you should fix it asap, otherwise the rip gets bigger and you need more stitches to fix it.
