British-made winter suits - help needed (posted by alecgrant

Hello,

This kind of ties with the winter suit thread ...

I really need some help - my budget is tight (£110 max!) and I would like to use that money to buy from one of the smaller UK suit manufacturers. To that extent, I\'ve narrowed my search for a new winter suit to 3 options (altho if you can suggest alternatives I\'d be grateful). What are you opinions of the following?

http://www.tikisurf.co.uk/tikiwetsuit.asp?prod=4460

http://www.c-skins.com/products/wetsuit ... nter-m.htm

http://www.majorsporty.com/ms/store/pro ... id=7531&am p;brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=7531,

Thanks in advance for any pointers. I\'m determined not to freeze my nads off this winter.

Sorry but I can't reccomend you get any of these suits if you are serious about staying warm in the water this winter - deffo don't get the 3rd one down (TWFUltra), haven't heard anything about the Tiki, and I have heard the C-skins suits to be xxxxx.
A Rip Curl Classic is only £120 and they are good - I had a 3/2mm Rip Curl classic for 4yrs without any worries. Ok their Elastos are xxxxx cos the seams go - I had 2 go on me in 2 yrs, but the Classic is brilliant.

look around on the web for places selling last seasons stock cheap, i got my suit a couple of years ago, it was 2 seaons out of date but still brand new with tags etc. would have been £220 new, i got it for £90. Contrary to what suit manufacturers would have you believe the technology doesnt leap forward massively from year to year.

Personally if i had to choose between the three i would pick the C-Skins wetsuit because from past experience i have found them reliable and comfortable. I've had three C-skins wetsuits as they tend to be pretty cheap but effective. The tiki would come in close second and the one at the bottom third.

Well thats my opinion :)

I know you want to stick to British makes but i'd go for this for that budget
